Getting Started
Ongoing Gmail Sync
After the initial sync, Lace continues to stay in sync with your Gmail.
Gmail Sync Overview
New Emails: Any time you receive a new email from a client (in a synced thread) Lace will automatically import it. You’ll see new comments appear in the file's focus page in Lace, usually within seconds of it arriving in Gmail.
Two-Way: Actions you take in Lace can reflect in Gmail. For instance, if you send a reply through Lace, that message is actually sent via Gmail. Likewise, if you archive or delete a design email in Gmail, Lace may mark it as archived in the workspace (though currently Lace might not support full email management, it won’t lose the context even if you archive the email).
No Duplication: Lace doesn’t create duplicate emails or forward anything unnecessarily. It’s reading your mailbox and presenting the information in a structured way. Think of it as a specialized view of your Gmail tailored for design work.
If at any point you want to disconnect your email, you can do so from your account settings in Lace. This will revoke the token and stop any further syncing. (Your data that was imported might remain in the app for reference, but it will no longer update with new emails unless reconnected.)
